1. How to print this file.

Make certain your printer is properly installed before 
proceeding.

	a). Insert the PC Utility disk in a floppy drive and change          
	    to that drive's command prompt.

	b). At the command prompt, type:

		print \readme.txt

	   and press and release the Enter key.

If you experience any difficulties, refer to the set up 
instructions provided with your printer.


2. Video Modes

Listed below are the maximum supported graphics and text modes 
that your computer can display (per its standard video hardware 
configuration):

NOTE: To display these graphics/text modes, your software must 
provide support. Refer to your software's documentation for 
information.

3. Utilities

This disk contains the following utilities:

	* 386SPEED.EXE - change CPU speed from the keyboard. At the        
	  command prompt, type:

		386SPEED -n

		where n = S (slow) 10 MHz
			  F (fast) 25 MHz

	* CACHE.EXE - allows you to enable (ON) or disable (OFF) 
	  your microprocessor's cache. At the command prompt, type:

		CACHE -n

		where n = ON (to enable)
			  OFF (to disable)
			  h (to list command parameters)

	* KEYB.COM - DOS keyboard driver program. 

	* KEYBOARD.SYS - DOS keyboard driver table file.

       NOTE: KEYB.COM and KEYBOARD.SYS provide national language        
	     support for your Commodore keyboard. Use these drivers if        
	     you upgrade to MS-DOS 5.0 from a non-Commodore vendor. Refer        
	     to your MS-DOS 5.0 documentation for installation                
	     instructions.

	* HDFORM.EXE - program that "low-level" formats your hard          
	  disk. Note that formatting your hard disk will erase all         
	  information and partition(s) contained on the disk.

	* HDCHECK.EXE - optimizes your hard disk's performance by          
	  reconfiguring its interleave factor.

	* CMOUSE74.COM - Commodore-specific, standard mouse driver.

	* CMOUSE74.SYS - Commodore-specific, standard mouse driver.
	
	* CPANEL.COM - use to adjust mouse cursor speed and change         
	  mouse button functions.

       NOTE: Refer to your Commodore Mouse Manual for information        
	     on using CMOUSE74.COM, CMOUSE74.SYS, and CPANEL.COM. 

	* CMOUSE.DRV - Commodore-specific, Windows mouse driver.

4. Utility Installation

You can install one or all of these utility programs on your 
system disk (hard or floppy disk). Generally, you should copy the 
utility to the directory that contains your system files (e.g., 
the DOS directory).

EXAMPLE

	a). Boot your computer.
	b). At the command prompt, insert the PC Utility disk in 
	    drive A:, and type:

		copy A:\DOS\KEYBOARD.SYS  C:\DOS

	    and press and release the Enter key

	c). To copy the entire disk's contents, type:

		XCOPY A:\ C:\ /s

	    and press and release the Enter key

Refer to your operating system documentation for additional 
instructions on file copying.
