SCBBS

Introduction:

A nice loader screen-- always a plus.

I like this program, if for no other reason than it looks like a new version of CMBBS, which is one of my favorite BBS programs for the c64. It's also excessively colorful, which is also quite amusing.

Anyway, SCBBS is a fairly standard system, with some online games patched in a-la Color 64 (by loading gargantuan overlay modules). It does have some nice little additions, such as an art gallery (just a specialized text file area) and a story board (where each user adds a line to a story). Its also a fully color/graphics system, which lends structural backup to the pleasing front it provides.

The rest of the main menu and the prompt.

On the down-side, SCBBS isn't terribly flexible, and is slow if you don't have jiffydos. But it does have remote SysOp support, and appears to be a stable, fairly well written system.

Lastly, the documentation for this BBS is available here.
