DEW

Evil scoured the land with masses of dark soulless creatures. Fiends with destructive power yet unmatched in a world of powerful sorcery and gallant warriors. It was an evil so immense that even the darkest of hearts were edged with fear at the waste strewn across its path. Even time itself was broken apart in the chaos. When it seemed the lands could take no more, a gathering of powerful mages and the holiest of clerics joined together in the Temple of Time in an attempt to create some means of fortifying Thera against the havoc that lay siege to it. After seven solid days of meditation and incantations, an elixir was formed out of their greatest powers and laced with the gods own might. Unsure of the affects of this powerful substance, they tested it on thieves, those greedy enough for power that they were willing to take the risk of unforeseen affects. Dew of the gods bestowed upon them. The substance was weakened and given to a second batch of thieves, and then warriors were added to the mix. Only a few, the strongest among them, survived. Clerics and mages were soon exposed to this potent solution and all were sent out to face the monstrosities that ravaged the lands. With Dew at their disposal the evil was driven from Thera and peace reined once again. It was placed under the control of Guardians selected from each class for their bravery and purity of heart, if not necessarily for their character. Thus began the clan of Dew.

Dew members strive to help those in need since that is our purpose. However be not surprised to find us behind any mischief that arises as the sacred Dew tends to make us eccentric. Thievery is fair game amongst Dew as thieves were the first to partake of the sacred elixir, and are highly regarded in our ranks for their bravery. Clerics and mages are honored for the creation of the Dew and it is in great sorrow when we were forced to exact vengeance upon even those outside of the clan. Since insanity has a tendency to creep into the minds of all Dew members, it is the warriors job to keep the madness at bay as much as possible. Greater power breeds greater insanity, causing positions to change ever rapidly.

Dew leadership is an especially vulnerable position and is withdrawn immediately by members if the ever present mischief by its leader is taken too far. All members are destined for eventual insanity, and the leader is of course most susceptible. Those who join our ranks are few, and are chosen under the highest of scrutiny. Only those with the highest of willpower, strength of mind, and greatest ability shall ever count themselves among the ranks of DEW.
